The ISTEB would like to acknowledge the generous support of the Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment (CRC CARE). CRC CARE is an Australian research and development organisation providing cutting edge technologies and knowledge in assessing, preventing and remediating contamination of soil, water and air. CRC CARE has generously provided three years of funding towards the operation and management of the ISTEB website. The ICOBTE series has been held biennially since 1990. It has been held in ten different locations around the world---the most recent being in Chihuahua, Mexico (2009). The next conference will be held in Florence, Italy from July 3 to 7, 2011 (www.icobte2011.com). The ICOBTE series is organized and orchestrated by volunteers from academia, industry and government under the purview of the International Society of Trace Element Biogeochemistry (ISTEB). The ISTEB, the parent society of the ICOBTE, is a non-profit organization that is also operated by volunteers. As such the operations of both the ISTEB and the ICOBTE depend largely on registration fees that are quite reasonable and within reach of participants from around the world. However, there are potential participants, especially those from the developing world, who may have difficulty in attending for economic reasons. Sponsorship from industrial, scientific and governmental organizations is critical to enable these participants to attend and contribute to the series. Sponsorship money is directed towards the creation of scholarships that allow for full global participation to ICOBTE. Special emphasis is given to students and young, promising professionals. We are grateful to the many sponsors who have, over the years, contributed to the success of the ICOBTE and, in particular, who have made these scholarships possible. Special thanks are extended to the following sponsors for their continuing support:
